About The Artist

Lorne Beug lives and works in Regina, where he was born in 1948. He graduated from the University of Regina in 1976 with a Bachelor degree in Anthropology and Psychology and further trained there in Fine Arts.

Well known for his ceramic sculptures, he now works in a wide variety of disciplines including painting, photo collage and mosaic mapping. Beug’s art explores his many interests. His knowledge of anthropology, archaeology and geology; psychoanalysis, architecture and primitive or folk art has had a profound influence on his work.
