Arts Board Announces Chair and Board Appointments

The Saskatchewan Arts Board welcomes Pamella Acton, an education professional from Saskatoon, as our new board chair.

Acton and three new board members have been appointed by the Minister of Parks, Culture and Sport.

When Chrystene Ells tells people that she moved from San Francisco to Regina to pursue a career in the arts, they are surprised. “When it comes to the community-at-large supporting the arts, Saskatchewan has San Francisco beat,” she says.

The Saskatchewan Arts Board, Canada Council for the Arts and Saskatchewan Writers’ Guild are pleased to announce the Aboriginal Editors Circle, a unique program that promotes the diversity of literary voices in Canada by providing professional development for Aboriginal editors and publishers. Guy Vanderhaeghe receives Lifetime Achievement Award

On September 25, 2013, Guy Vanderhaeghe was awarded the Lieutenant Governor's Arts Award for Lifetime Achievement. Other recipients were: Andrew Salgado, Misty Wensel, Ruth Cuthand, Shona Stapleton, Chrystene Ells, and Saskatchewan Filmpool Cooperative.
