A reception will be held Saturday, February 4, 2012, from 2 pm to 4 pm.

This exhibit will feature painting and drawings, in a variety of mediums, by inmates at the Saskatoon Correctional Centre.

Want a new perspective? Come out and view the world through the eyes of artists who have endured abuse, poverty, violence and incarceration. The arts are not only therapeutic for inmates, but they also provide a conduit between various demographics. The arts remind us that we are more alike than we are different.  

Please come out and support these aspiring artists - they have welcomed the opportunity to participate in the arts while in prison. The act of creating art has fulfilled their need to feel accomplishment, pride and self worth. It has a profound effect on their self esteem and plays a vital role in their successful reintegration into society. They are opening their hearts to the community, allowing themselves to be vulnerable by reaching out to others. 

Please help us provide the positive recognition they deserve by purchasing a ‘one of a kind’ or just stopping by to browse this unique and exciting exhibition. The show will highlight several artists who are presently incarcerated at the Saskatoon Provincial Correctional or are currently in remand, awaiting sentencing.

Despite the limited art supplies available to the artists, the exhibition will showcase a variety of mediums including acrylic, pen and pencil.

Some of the artists in the show will also be featured in the upcoming 'GANG PREVENTION' RESOURCE coming out this spring
